Middle School Science Pilot of iPads - Results

Over two years, the numbers of students that met the state standard in science increased from 86 to 91 percent. When breaking the two-year data into demographic groups, growth for African American students was 80 to 90 percent, Hispanic students 74 to 86 percent, and socioeconomically disadvantaged students 76 to 83 percent. In addition, we saw a 54 percent increase in the percentage of our socioeconomically disadvantaged students that achieved commended status on the science test (missing only two to three questions on the entire test), moving from 13 to 20 percent.
